Label materials for logistics applications

Why print your own warehouse labels?

If you operate a high-turnover warehouse, printing your own labels can be incredibly convenient. When shelves or bins for best-selling products quickly empty, or those products need to be moved to larger storage locations, you can easily print a new label with an updated location code.

Adding new products to your inventory? Simply print the necessary product labels yourself. If a location code changes, you can generate a new barcode label on the spot. Damaged labels can be quickly replaced, ensuring that your operation keeps running smoothly. By printing your own warehouse labels, you maintain full control of the labelling process.

What types of warehouse labels can you print?

Almost any type of warehouse label can be printed in-house, including LPN barcode labels for boxes and pallets, those for shelves, big bags, crates, bins, and trolleys. Depending on the application, you can choose from different materials. Each application may require different materials, so it is essential to consider the labels’ lifespan, the temperature conditions they will be expopsed to, and the type of surface they will be adhered to. Each label material has its own unique properties and uses.

    What label materials are available?

The type of material you choose will depend on the type of warehouse label you are looking to print. Below are some popular options:

    Polypropylene

Polypropylene labels are highly versatile, suitable for shelving, bins, crates, and big bags. We offer polypropylene labels that either permanently adhere to the surface or that can be removed and reused. For cold environments, a specialised polypropylene material is available for use in freezers and cold storage warehouses. These labels can be applied at temperatures as low as -25ºC and remain firmly attached at temperatures down to -55ºC.

    Vinyl

Vinyl is a durable choice, ideal for labelling pallet racks and shelves. It features strong adhesive properties and resistance to oils and chemicals, making it perfect for industrial environments such as IBC storage. Vinyl labels are also suitable for prolonged outdoor use.

    Magnet

If you prefer the option to remove the labels but do not want to use self-adhesive labels, we recommend magnetic strips. We supply the magnets on continuous rolls, so you can cut or trim the strips to the desired size as needed. Magnetic strips are commonly used for shelf labels but can also be applied to whiteboards or planning boards.

    Paper

Most of our clients opt for paper labels for temporary printing identification, such as LPN barcode labels, URN labels, or pallet and box labels. Paper labels are not only a cost-effective choice but they are to print at high speeds and ideal for short-term use.

    Polyethylene

Polyethylene tags are virtually tear-proof, making them a great choice for label holders on shelving or picking racks. These tags can be printed, inserted into label holders, and used without fear of tearing. We supply the tags with a perforation for easy detachment and application. You can also use the tags on wooden pallets. Simply print the barcode on the label, tear the label from the rol land staple it to a corner block of the pallet.

    Printing your own warehouse labels

All of our label materials for warehouse and logistics applications are available in standard sizes through our label shop. Most materials can also be supplied on continuous rolls, allowing you to customise the label length. Need a non-standard size? We specialise in bespoke solutions so do not hesitate to get in touch to see how we can assist.

Order pre-printed labels for warehouses and logistics

While printing your own labels is convenient, it can also be time-consuming, especially if you need to also design your labels. A label with a simple text or number is quite straightforward, but adding barcodes, arrows, icons, or check digits can make things more complex. That is where we come in.

We have helped over 1,550 warehouses and distribution centres across Europe optimise workflows, accelerate turnaround times, and reduce picking errors. Our production team specialises in creating bespoke, pre-printed warehouse labels with barcodes tailored to your needs. Whether you require colour-coded labels for pallet racks, picking stations, or cantilever racking, or if you want to start using multi-barcode labels, we have got you covered.
