Polyolefin label material

Why choose polyolefin labels?

Polyolefin labels are a popular solution for labelling wires and cables in the electrical industry and ICT sector, among others. By labelling each individual wire and cable you have a proper overview which makes maintenance, detecting defects and repair work a lot easier. The polyolefin labels ONE2ID supplies are shrink sleeves, also known as heat shrink tubing. These can be used for labelling wires of different diameters, from narrow to wide.

Characteristics of polyolefin labels

Our M1802 polyolefin shrink sleeves come without an adhesive. To apply the labels, you simply slide them around the wire or cable before shrinking them with a heat gun or hot air gun. The heat from the gun causes the sleeves to shrink and become firmly attached around the wire or cable. The polyolefin sleeves have a shrink ratio of 2:1 and a shrinking temperature of >90°C. The halogen-free and self-extinguishing material is flame-retardant, lightweight and flexible. Moreover, it is highly resistant to chemicals, solvents, humidity and UV.

Alternative to polyolefin labels

If you are looking for an alternative to polyolefin cable marking you can use vinyl wrap-around labels, depending on the application and requirements of your work environment. The wrap-around wire labels have a very strong adhesive, high resistance to UV and chemicals and can be used in operating temperatures from -40ºC up to +80ºC. We can supply these labels in several standard sizes and colours, so you can use different colours to distinguish groups of wires or cables.

Our polyurethane cable tags are useful for labelling wires and cables with a larger diameter. These cable tags have no adhesive and are easy to attach to single wires or bundles of cables with cable ties. Cable tags are also available in various colours. If you own a thermal transfer printer, you can print your own vinyl wrap-around labels or cable tags.

How to order polyolefin labels?

As with any choice of label material, it is important first determine the specific requirements the material must meet, the desired size of the label as well as the desired lifespan. If you are going to print your own polyolefin shrink sleeves, our consultants will be happy to send you a non-binding quote.

Feel free to contact one of our consultants at +31 (0)172 769 123 or [email protected] should you have any questions about polyolefin heat shrink tubing. They can discuss with you the various options for cable and wire labelling to ensure you invest in the right material for long-term benefits.
