Polyurethane label material

Why choose polyurethane labels?

Are you always searching for the right cable in a tangled web of wires and cables? Those days are in the past when you use our polyurethane labels. Print your own wire and cable labels and experience first-hand how proper identification of cables and wires helps you detect and repair cable faults quicker.

The polyurethane labels ONE2ID can supply are tags without an adhesive, developed specifically for cable marking and wire coding. The tags can be used to identify single wires and cables of different size diameter as well as bundles of cables, e.g. on the back of solar panels.

Characteristics of polyurethane labels

The halogen-free cable tags are made of high-quality, flame-retardant PUR (polyether polyurethane), ensuring a long service life. The cable tags have a minimum application temperature of 0ºC and can be used in operating temperatures ranging from -25ºC up to +105ºC. This particualr tag comes without an adhesive. You can attach the tags with cables ties and if needed, you can easily remove them again.

Thanks to their high weather resistance, UV and chemical resistance, polyurethane labels have a lifespan of 10 years when used outdoors. It should be noted that this service life also depends on the application, placement and working conditions in which the labels are used.

Alternative to polyurethane labels

For wires and cables with a smaller diameter polyolefin heat shrink tubing may be a better solution as opposed to polyurethane cable tags. These sleeves are available for wires with very small to larger diameters. Like the cable tags, heat shrink sleeves do not have an adhesive, but you can attach them to the wire or cable using an industrial heat gun. If you are looking for a self-adhesive cable label, we can recommend polyester labels. Polyester labels have a strong adhesive, are waterproof and can be used long-term in operating temperatures up to +150ºC.

How to order polyurethane labels?

Our polyurethane cable labels are available in different sizes and a variety of colours. You can choose to purchase pre-cut labels or a cost-saving continuous roll, so you can print the tags yourself with a thermal transfer printer and a resin printer ribbon. The polyurethane material is suitable for thermal transfer printers from well-known brands such as Zebra, SATO, Intermec, Altec, Brady, Toshiba, Datamax, TSC, Avery, Honeywell, Canon and Citizen.

If you want to make sure the information on the label remains readable for a long time, we can supply the cable tags with a matching, protective laminate. When you send in your enquire, make sure to mention you need a quote for the protective laminate as well, so we can provide you with a complete, no-obligation quote.

If you are not quite sure which type of cable marking is best suited to your working conditions, contact one of our label consultants at +31 (0)172 769 123. If you would like to receive samples to test the polyurethane labels before placing an order, please fill out our order request form.
